As President Trump fumed about the FBI’s raid on Michael Cohen‘s office, he once again ripped Jeff Sessions over his refusal from the investigations into Russia’s 2016 election interference.
The president went off on Monday as he called the raid “an attack on our country,” tore into his various political enemies, and flirted with the possibility of firing Robert Mueller. Eventually, Trump turned his ire towards his attorney general again, saying he would’ve picked someone else for the job if he knew Sessions would recuse himself.
“The attorney general made a terrible mistake when he did this, and when he recused himself – or he should have certainly let us know if he was going to recuse himself – and we would have put a different attorney general in. So he made, what I consider to be a very terrible mistake for the country.”
Trump has slammed Sessions multiple times over this account, though the former Alabama senator continues to insist that he made the right call at the time.
